Local History
Timoleague Educational Garden is the setting for a wonderful array of local events and groups over the last couple of years. Recently, some locals with an interest in local history gathered and realised that there is a huge appetite for the social history, folklore, commercial history etc of the area. With that in mind, an open invitation is extended to anyone interested in forming a historical society for the area to meet on Monday November 10th at 7:30pm in the Educational Garden (Eircode is P72DX23).
Marathon Athlete
Christy Crowley of Cregane ran a personal best of 3 hours and 8 minutes in the recent Dublin City Marathon. He raised over €13,660 on behalf of The Irish Cancer Society, a cause close to his heart. Christopher wishes to thank all those who donated money to this very worthy cause. Now that he has overcome “the wall”, the sky is the limit for the young Timoleague farmer.

This is the first segment of the adjudicator’s report of Timoleague village.
Community- Your Planning and Involvement: Failte chuig Comortas Bhailte Slachtmhara Superevalu 2025.
Thank you for participating In Ireland's longest-running environmental project and helping to make Ireland a better place. We really appreciate all the great work that you do and the effort you put in, year on year. Thank you for your entry form and accompanying map. Both were very useful for the adjudication. You put a lot of time in making your entry so detailed and colourful, so thank you for that. Please take note of what is applicable in each category, however. There was some repetition and duplication within your entry.
You are right to be proud of your great performance in Tidy Towns of late. You have an exceptionally large volunteer team and great support from your local community. This includes local businesses and the National School. Your Key Project this year is the digitising of the self-guided tour of Timoleague Friary. You have been involved in the competition for around 62 years and that is amazing commitment. We are delighted that the
competition has been so beneficial for the village of Timoleague and we look forward to having you in the competition for many years to come.
Camogie County Final Success:
Barryroe under 16 camogie team won a historic first premier 2 championship final at Castle Road on Saturday last. Playing with panache they defeated local rivals, Clonakilty, 5-6 to 0-10. Special mention to Timoleague girls, Cliona Harte, Aoife Harte, Sinead O’Callaghan, Seodhna Walsh, Ellen Foley, Mariane Keohane, Fiona Walsh, Juliet Harte and Niamh Doyle on this great achievement. Local mentors, Karen O’Callaghan and Bill Harte also deserve plaudits.
