The U21 footballers have progressed to their first U21A county football final after a thrilling win over their hosts Kinsale last Sunday. There is a full report elsewhere in the sports pages that details the thrilling finale where James Crowley scored a stunning 2 pointer to level the game 1:13 a piece, and bring the contest to penalties. Luke McCarthy saved brilliantly so that meant Donagh Flynn was able to convert for a 6-5 win on penalties. The winners of the opposite semi-final between Douglas and Beara will provide the final opposition. The players have U21 hurling to play also, so keep an eye on social media for details of their next game. Well done to Ibane U16's also, who beat Newcestown in a thrilling game of football, which was played in Newcestown last Sunday. They captured the shield on a scoreline of 2-10 to 0-14 after extra time.
