U21 Ibane County

County Final Loss

Douglas came out on top against Ibane Gaels in the county U21A Football Final last Sunday at Macroom. Their 1-16 to 2-09 win will be reported on in greater detail in this issue's sports pages. It is a tough result for the lads and management team who have given their all and gave us so many great days out. Their fight, spirit, and determination was plain to see. Unfortunately, the powers that be will not allow Ibane enter an U21 team next year with all amalgamations under the microscope at county board level. This can only be detrimental to skill level and player development (for both club and county) as players are unlikely to get a chance to play top grade sport with their neighbours. The players and management can hold their heads high after a mammoth effort. Team:
