Christmas Gifts
Only the best from Timoleague National School JEP: Get your food graded boards (€15-25) made from larch locally sourced, bark candle holders (€10) & our delicious hot chocolate balls (€6 per bag) for gifts this Christmas. These beautiful items are available this weekend at the "Turning on of the Christmas Lights" organised by Timoleague Tidy Towns on the 7th of December. Cash only please. Please come and visit us this Sunday in Timoleague Community Hall after the official switch on of the lights. A big thank you from the students of 5th & 6th class of Timoleague National School.
Tidy Towns Christmas Events
Timoleague Tidy Towns will hold their annual celebratory party on Sunday next, December 7th. at the Community Hall. The official switch on of the Christmas Lights will be at 6pm at the village centre. A local dedicated community group are presently engaged in the erection of the lights in the village streets in readiness for Sunday night. There will be a carol recital prior to the switch on. This year Aoife Harte and Niamh Doyle will do the honours of switching on the lights. Both girls were star members of the Cork All-Ireland under 14 team that won the ladies football championship. They will be accompanied by victorious coach Mary Harrington at the ceremony. Rumours are rife that Santa will make a pit stop at the village also on the night, so you know where to be on Sunday evening next.
The Joy of Christmas
Musicorum will present The Joy of Christmas at The Church of The Ascension, Timoleague on Saturday December 15th. at 5pm. Carols will be sung for you and by you under the direction of conductor Geoffrey Spratt with readings by poet and columnist Jennifer Horgan. An open invitation is extended to all to attend.
History Talk
The newly formed Timoleague Historical Society will host a talk on Tuesday December 9th at 7:30pm upstairs in the new Community Hall. Local historian and author Diarmuid Kingston will speak on Templequinlan Famine Graveyard and Church. Everyone is welcome to this free event.
Christmas Charity Bingo
Timoleague Community Bingo are organising a charity bingo for Christmas on Friday night next, December 5th. Funds raised on the night will go directly to the RTE Toy Show Appeal, supporting children and families across Ireland. If anyone would like to donate a spot prize or make a donation, they can do so on the night or they can contact Gerard Madden at (086) 3666514. All contributions will be gratefully appreciated.
Craft Fair
A Craft Fair in aid of Clogagh National School will be held at Clogagh Hall on Sunday next, December 7th from 10am to 5pm. Further information can be had by contacting Sarah at (087) 6598567.
