U12 panel

February 09, 2026

U12 presentation

Timoleague Community Hall was the venue last Sunday evening as a large crowd gathered to celebrate the achievements of last year's U12 panel.  Underage chairman Mike Harte opened the evening’s celebrations and thanked Cork senior hurler, Brian Hayes, for taking the time to come to present medals to the panel. Coach Niall Harte then reflected on what had been an exceptional season, which started off in February with the Street Leagues for six weeks, the Kieran Cullinane Cup win against Ahán Gaels in August, the Shield Final win against Uibh Laoire in Ballinacarriga, and finally the West Cork Hurling Final win against Tracton in October. Niall paid special tribute to the hard work, determination, and team spirit that defined this group, noting that their achievements were the result of a true collective effort. A lot of memories made which will be remembered in years to come for this bunch of incredible lads.
Club coaching officer, Dan Connolly, then took the reins, guiding an entertaining interview with Brian, with humour and wit in abundance throughout. Following in his father’s footsteps, Brian has carved out an impressive career of his own playing for St Finbarr’s and Cork. He encouraged the young players to be resilient and keep practicing, reminding them that the skills they build now will stand to them in the years ahead.
Another coach, Emmett Daly, introduced the players during the medal presentation and later, Cormac Wilcox welcomed the opportunity to acknowledge not only the success of the 2025 U12 team, but also the countless hours of training, support, and encouragement that made it possible. It was a proud moment for the group and a fitting celebration of a remarkable season. Afterwards an army of volunteers had a great spread of food and refreshments to round off a very enjoyable evening. Some more photos can be view on our Facebook page.
