A finance group, headed up by Kevin Collins will look after the day to day running of the society and will also be responsible for securing grant funding. An events committee under the guidance of Helen Crowley will have responsibility for organising lectures and field trips. Finally, a group tasked with public relations which will include Facebook and website was also formed under the guidance of Maurice Kelleher.

Tidy Towns Report Contd.
Community-Your Planning and Involvement: With 15 committee members and 60 additional volunteers, including support from the local National School and various local groups, your weekly clean ups clearly demonstrate a strong community spirit. The backing from Cork County Council, Local Link and local businesses has been an important part in enabling projects like resurfacing roads and new street lighting. You also do a great job in keeping everyone informed and involved through your use of WhatsApp, social media, updates in The Southern Star and Church announcements. After 62 years of participating in this competition, it is very clear that it has brought a lasting sense of pride and has provided valuable funding for future improvements within your community.
Streetscapes and Public Places: The launch of your digital self-guided QR tour of Timoleague Friary is an excellent way to share your rich heritage with visitors. I was also very happy to see the new “Village Vista” sign at the Catholic Church. Which was beautifully painted by a local Ukrainian resident, and the great improvement done to the collapsed wall near St. Molaga’s burial ground. The mural near Centra definitely brings colour and interest to the village. Public spaces like the Railway Park and The Playground are kept in excellent condition with the Playground now being universally accessible and recently upgraded through CLAR funding. You might also consider providing a Disabled Parking Bay in the car-park beside the Playground.
