Medal presentation

February 27, 2026

County league medal presentation

On Friday night last, Argideen Rangers GAA club honored the panel of players and management that won the Division 7 County Football League in 2025. Club chairman Mark Flynn opened the formalities in Charlie Madden's Bar and welcomed special guest Peter Fleming. In his address to the medal winners, Peter detailed his own personal involvement with the club. From a time in his youth where there was no club in the area until 1967 and no real underage structure until the 1980's right up to the incredible success of the 1990's and noughties county winners. He reminded the audience of the current fortunate position of players in having a comprehensive programme of games and level of preparation that was unimaginable not so long ago. Peter also spoke passionately about the importance of having deeply committed people involved in the club and of how the close bonds and friendships made will last a lifetime. Football manager Michael O' Callaghan and team captain Bill Fleming also addressed the gathering and commended the players on their achievements and also noted the devotion of officials and volunteers to the club. The players begin their McCarthy Insurance Group Division 6 FL campaign on Friday 27th at 8pm away to Kildorrery. Other football opponents include Aghinagh, Cobh, Cullen, Dromtarriffe, Glanworth, Glenville, Kilmacabea and Na Piarsaigh.
