Daffodil Day Thanks
The organisers of Timoleague Daffodil Day ’26 would like to thank everyone who heled in any way to make this year’s fundraising event such a success. They especially give thanks to those who picked daffodils, the people who did street and shop collection, those who did baking and those who helped out at the coffee morning at the hall, people and firms who very kindly donated prizes for the raffle, to The Education Garden for the workshop and to the countless people who gave so generously during the week-end. The total sum raised to date is €5,947.30. What a marvellous community effort for a most worthy national cause. Mile buiochas.
Ploughing Match
The Timoleague Ploughing committee having enlisted the help of Jupiter, the Roman god that controlled the weather, not to mention the Lord himself, achieved the desired result and the 90th Timoleague Ploughing Match was held on Sunday last in ideal conditions at Meelmane, Courtmacsherry. A record number of spectators attended the event and not only were they treated to expert ploughing but they were also captivated by the panoramic views of land and sea from the site. The committee are deeply indebted to The Sexton family on whose farm this year’s event took place. A full list of the results are published elsewhere in this edition.
