Easter Egg Hunt
The annual Easter Egg Hunt organised by Timoleague Parish Council will take place on Sunday next, April 5th. Easter Sunday. It will be held in Clogagh after the 10am mass and the Timoleague hunt will be after the 11.30 am mass. This is always a great occasion for the children and indeed the adults as well. Why not come along and join in. An open invitation is extended to all.
Timoleague Community AGM
The annual general meeting of the Timoleague Community Association took place at the Community Hall, Timoleague on Tuesday night last. A large representative crowd was present to hear a review of the association’swork over the past year. Chairperson, John Walsh welcomed everybody and complimented all for the great help and support given throughout the past year. Secretary, Sheila Mc Carthy, in her lengthy and comprehensive report gave details of all the projects undertaken. Ross Twomey who stepped in on the night due to the unavoidable absence of treasurer, Colette O’Sullivan gave a detailed breakdown of the financial position of the association. Local consultant engineer, Niall Ryan gave details of the refurbishment of the hall and a number of copies of the plans were on display for all to see. The chairman expressed confidence with regard to the planning application and with a few minor adjustments, work should commence on that project shortly.
Table Quiz
The Seven Heads Walks Committee held its annual table quiz at Pad Joe’s Bar on Friday night last. This was a most enjoyable night as usual and quiz master Eamonn Guinevan’s questions were well received by all the contestants. There were eight rounds of ten questions on the night and an exciting finish resulted. The winning team consisted of Michael O’Flynn, Liam Condon, Conor O’Flynn and Stephen Kelly.Hospitable hosts, Tracie and Conor provided tasty hot food at the interval. The newly elected chairman of The Seven Heads Walks committee, Michael O’Sullivan in his address at the end, thanked all who took part in the quiz. He especially expressed thanks to Barryroe Co-Op and Kevin Collins of Molaga Honey and all who gave generous spot prizes. He also availed of the opportunity of outlining the exciting plans for all of The Seven Heads Walks which are fast becoming a major walking destination for locals and visitors alike.
Rugby Cup Final Success
Local girls, Yasmin Assare, Seodhna Walsh, Julie Cunningham, Laura Sexton and Sinead O’Callaghan were part of the Sacred Heart team that won the Girls Rugby Senior Cup Final in Virgin Media Park recently. They defeated Colaiste Pobail Bantry 52 – 14 and with this win the school has completed a fantastic three in a row of titles. Congratulations to all involved.
