Tidy Towns Spring Cleanup
The annual Big Week-End KWD Cleanup organised by Timoleague Tidy Towns will take place in Timoleague on Friday 10th of April and Saturday, 11th of April. This is always an enjoyable social event for the entire community and you are most welcome to participate so that Timoleague will be even more attractive to both locals and visitors alike. On Friday evening participants are asked to assemble at The Community Hall at 6pm where bags and Hi-Viz bibs can be collected. On Saturday morning assembly will be at 10am and the same format will apply. Volunteers are asked to bring their own gloves, brushes and shovels if required. Fully filled bags can be left at The Community Hall.
On Saturday morning at 12 noon when you have done your “community service” you are most welcome to call in to the Educational Garden for a cup of something warm and a biscuit as a little thank you for your time and effort. It will also afford volunteers to swap stories of their labour and discuss if the usual litter black spots have improved or disimproved since this time last year.

Easter Egg Hunt
The annual easter egg hunt organised by Timoleague Parish Council at Clogagh and Timoleague took place on Sunday last, after mass. A big thank you to those who helped in organising the event which was a big hit with the many children who took part. The weather was kind enough on Sunday morning and as proceedings were coming to a close, the rain began to fall - nothing unusual in that!Nonetheless, all went home, enriched after the morning.
Local Girl Honoured
Julie Cunningham of Ballincoursey is fast making a name for herself in sporting circles of late. Having recently helped her school, Sacred Heart, Clonakilty to win The Schools Senior Rugby Cup at Virgin Media Park, she was selected on the Munster Under 18 Rugby team that defeated Connaught last week in the inter-provincial series. On Friday night last, her sporting exploits were recognised at The Clonakilty Rugby Club’s Annual End of Year Ball when she was presented with The Young Player of the Year Award for 2025/’26. They say that the apple never falls far from the tree. Her father Martin was one of Argideen Rangers finest and her grandfather Jackie not only starred with Timoleague in football but also played with star-studded Carbery teams in senior championship in the 1940’s. Julie is wished well in her future sporting career.

Hannah and Ellen Sexton bowled the Armagh Senior ladies, Dervla Toal - Mallon and Gemma McCannin Keady, Co. Armagh at the Bol Fada Easter Festival and won by over a bowl of odds.
Richie Lawton and Laura Sexton won the South West Doubles over David Deane and Rachel Kingston at Lyre on Easter Monday.
