First Holy Communion
Eighteen pupils of Timoleague National School received their first holy communion on Saturday last. The church was beautifully decorated with art work done by the children. Much preparation was done in the lead up to the ceremony under the watchful eye of their teacher Ann-Marie Kelly. Music was in the very capable hands of church organist, Mary Collins. The weather also entered into the spirit of the sacred occasion.
Let’s Get Blooming
Timoleague Educational Garden presents a talk and demonstration by Annette Smyth of Bandon Co-Op Garden Centre on Saturday next, May 23rd. at 12 noon. Her topic will include how to get the best summer colour from planters. An assortment of plants will also be on sale on the day. A donation of €10 would be appreciated.
Lip Sync at Timoleague
Timoleague National School Parents’ Association are presenting Lip Sync 2026 at The Community Hall, Timoleague on Saturday next, May 23rd. at 7.30pm. Rehearsals for this much anticipated show have been have been on-going for some time. Tickets and further information can be had by contacting (085) 2895446 prior to the event. Demand for tickets has been heavy and only a limited number of tickets will be available at the door on the night. Proceeds from the show will go to Timoleague National School.
Corpus Christi Procession
A reminder that The Corpus Christi Procession will take place after the 11.30am mass in Timoleague on Sunday, June 7th. This is a long-standing local event that is looked forward to annually.
Sciath na Scol Football
Timoleague National School boys and girls teams qualified for the football finals on Monday morning last. The boys defeated St. Patrick’s BNS Bandon having already beaten Gaelscoil, Mhichil Ui Choileain, Clonakilty earlier in the competition. The girls recorded a win over Bandon and had already defeated Knockskeagh NS. Both finals will be held at Clonakilty on Thursday, June 4th. These are exciting times for the pupils as the boys will have played Gaelscoil Ui Riada of Bishopstown in the hurling final at Pairc Ui Chaoimh prior to these notes going to print.
