Timoleague Festival 2026
Patrons and dedicated supporters of the annual Timoleague Harvest Festival are reminded that this year’s festival will take place a little earlier than usual. The ten day event will begin on Friday, August 7th and will finish on Monday, August 17th. The hard working, energetic committee are presently in the midst of finalising the programme of events. You can find live updates on the Timoleague Harvest Festival website or check Timoleague Festival Instagram nearer the dates. Knowing the event’s track record, locals and visitors will not be disappointed with what’s in store for them in Timoleague in August.
Camogie Success
While much attention has been focused on intercounty action by local players of late, nearer to home the action on the camogie front has also been hitting the headlines. Kilbrittain/Timoleague Camogie had a fantastic win recently in the final ofThe Lily Grant Junior County League at Castle Road beating Watergrasshill 1-13 to 0-7 after a great game which delighted their many supporters at the city venue. Local players central to this victory were Cliodhna Keohane, Sinead Walsh, Laura and Margaret Sexton.
League success was also enjoyed at the other side of the haggart when Barryroe defeated Bride Rovers 1-16 to 0-6 in the Junior A final at Castle Road. Local girls involved in this great victory were Sarah Harrington, Sarah Harte, Meabh O’Sullivan, Sinead Walsh, Cliona Harte, Ellen Foley, Seodhna Walsh and Sinead O’Callaghan.
It’s all systems go around Timoleague at present and the Summer is only starting!
Kilbrittain Historical Society
Kilbrittain Historical Society will travel to Timoleague on Thursday, June 25th. and will visit some local historical sites in the area. Their first port of call will be Our Lady’s Well at Lettercollum. They will then travel to visit Templequinlan Cemetery. Their next stop will be a visit to view the Standing Stones at Barryshall, before finishing at The Cistercian Abbey at Abbeymahon. The tour begins at 6.30pm and an open invitation is extended to all to participate.
Cork Under 14 Camogie
Nyah Burns was a member of the Cork under 14 camogie squad that participated at the Munster Blitzes on Saturday last. Proud parents, Val and Stuart can look forward to many outings supporting Nyah during the summer months.
