Ball Alley Upgrade
The ball alley at Timoleague has recently undergone a comprehensive upgrade which was well overdue. A new all-purpose floor has been installed and the inside has been newly painted with an emergency exit fitted at the side. This is a fantastic amenity in the village and is in use twenty- four seven. Members of Argideen Rangers GAA club, Timoleague National School, Timoleague Playschool and Afterschool club together with enthusiasts from the neighbouring communities all avail of this modern in-door recreational facility. The building that began as an outdoor handball alley has undergone many changes since it was first constructed back in the ‘70’s. It is now completely roofed and squash, racket ball and hurl ball are played there. The new floor has been lined to accommodate paddle ball and pickle ball, so there is no shortage of choice for the would-be participants.
The Timoleague Community Association, one of the most active and progressive in West-Cork is constantly striving to enhance all facilities locally and would like to sincerely thank Cllr. John Michael Foley and Cork County Council for their support in delivering this modern sporting facility in the village.
