GAA Lottery Draw

There was no winner of the Argideen Rangers GAA lottery jackpot of €14,700 last weekend. The numbers drawn were 2, 9, 12 and 27. Lucky dip winners of €30 each included; Simon Walton c/o Charlie Maddens Bar; Hayley & Mike Sweeney, Chapel Ave; Marguerite O' Sullivan c/o Donal Cullinane and Crowley, Kilbrittain. Next week’s draw with a jackpot of €14,800 will be held at The Brewery Bar on Sunday July 12th. Tickets at €2 each or 3 for €5 can be bought at Foley’s Centra, Pad Joe’s Bar, Monk’s Lane, Charlie Madden’s Bar, The Brewery Bar or from any club officer. Supporters of the draw are also asked to avail of modern technology by using the club’s online link by visiting www.clubspot.ie where one can avail of the user-friendly website.  Underage GAA Action

Argideen Rangers will travel to play Barryroe at 7.30pm on Friday 10th for a hurling league fixture.On the same night, Ibane Gaels U14 hurling team will play Sliabh Rua at 7pm in Riverstick.

All-Ireland Minor Football Win

Congratulations to the Cork minor team and especially Ibane Gaels players, Conrad Murphy and Riley O' Donovan on a thrilling All Ireland football win against Tyrone last weekend in Newbridge. It is a great honour to play with Cork in any grade but it is something special to play on a Cork All-Ireland winning team.  Both young men did their club, family and parish proud. While Riley did not see action on Sunday, nonetheless he played a vital role in earlier rounds and was always among the scorers until a cruel injury restricted his involvement in the latter stages of the campaign. Conrad was ever present in the Cork engine room at mid-field and his work- rate, determination and class shone through and inspired his team-mates throughout the season. They now turn their attention to local affairs and Ibane Gaels will benefit greatly from their undoubted talents in the weeks and months to come.
