GAA Lottery Draw
There was no winner of the Argideen Rangers GAA lottery jackpot of €15,400 last weekend. The numbers drawn were 8, 12, 23, and 31. Lucky dip winners of €30 each included; Clare Shannon, Bandon; Eileen McKennedy, Lyre c/o Bingo; Michael Hayes, Shannonvale and Margaret O'Donovan c/o Pad Joe's Bar.
Next week’s draw with a jackpot of €15,500 will be held at The Brewery Bar on Sunday August 30th. Tickets at €2 each or 3 for €5 can be bought at Foley’s Centra, Pad Joe’s Bar, Monk’s Lane, Charlie Madden’s Bar, The Brewery Bar or from any club officer. Supporters of the draw are also asked to avail of modern technology by using the club’s online link by visiting www.clubspot.ie where one can avail of the user-friendly website. PJHC Defeat
Argideen Rangers lost the Co-op Superstores PJHC second round game against Barryroe last Sunday in Clonakilty. First half highlights included some great runs and scores from Finbarr Butler, James Crowley and Sean Walsh yet Barrryroe converted some important frees to lead 0-11 to 0-8 at halftime. Sean Murray, Jack Twoomey (making his championship debut) and Ger Crowley gave it their all in the backline throughout the game. The teams were evenly matched with Barryroe pulling away in the final few minutes with a well taken goal and point to record a 1-18 to 0-16 win. There is a full match report in the sports pages. St Finbarrs provide the final group game opposition on Saturday September 5th. The equation is simple - a win or draw will see us qualify for the knockout stages.
