Kieran Cullinane Cup 2026
September 06, 2026
Supporters were treated to a fantastic evening of hurling in Our Lady's Well last week, as Argideen Rangers and Valley Rovers U12 hurling teams played a closely fought contest.
The extended Cullinane family are central to many positive developemnts in Timoleague, and the Kieran Cullinane Cup is a fitted memorial to honour Kieran.
Both sides played superb hurling on the night, with huge grit and determination on show. James Keohane, Rian Daly,Juliette Griffin, Finn Cashman and Bill Dinneen were just some performers to catch the eye.
At the end of full-time, the teams were level, and after a match saving block from Seán Connolly, the match headed to extra time. After the first half, the sides were still level, and it was only in the final two minutes that Argideen Rangers edged ahead with brilliant points from man of the match Mikey Deasy and Oisin Coomey. A nail‑biter fight to the final whistle, with the narrowest of margins between the teams, as the home side won on a score of 1–07 to 2–02.
The captains on the day were Conor Burns for Argideen Rangers and Ruairí Cullinane for Valley Rovers - two grandsons of Declan and Teresa, who both led their teams exceptionally well. Declan Jnr. managed the Innishannon team. Many thanks to Teresa, who presented the cup to Argideen Rangers captain Conor Burns. Thanks also to the parents who helped with catering and to The Hatch Takeaway for providing the food. And finally, thanks to referee Pat Lawton. Well done lads on a fantastic win, and sincere thanks to the extended Cullinane family. Some more photos can be viewed on our Facebook page.
