Golf Classic
A superb entry of 66 teams had a very enjoyable outing at the Argideen Rangers Golf Classic which took place in Clonakilty Golf Club, Lisselan recently. A huge amount of work went into the day behind the scenes with numerous volunteers, led by Denis and Ross. As a result of the generous sponsorship of Keohane Readymix and numerous local sponsors, the funds raised will allow the club to run smoothly and invest in the future. After a great day of golf, BBQ and refreshments, the winning teams were announced.
1st. Tide Construction with 52 points. 2nd. Ballinascarthy GAA on 51. 3rd. Denis Whelton Centra with 49 points. 4th. Liam Murphy, Courtmacsherry on 48 points. 5th. Xeinadin, Clonakilty Business Park with 48 points and 6th. was Macroom Motors. The Ladies prize went to Mary Cronin of Doneraile and the juvenile competition was won by Malacchi Lyons’ team. Nearest to the pin was Carol O’Mahony of Bandon.
A closer look at the results would suggest that Barryroe are also better than us at golf at the moment, not forgetting that there was an Argideen man on the winning team! A rising “Tide” lifts all boats!
The raffle winners included; MaryKiely, EddieLyons, Eleanor Coughlan and Eoin Kenny.
