Junior Hurling:

Argideen Rangers had a narrow loss away to neighbours Killbrittain last Sunday evening in the Junior C Hurling Championship. The visitors to Clashavanna had the stiff breeze behind them in the first half with points from JJ Butler, David Deasy, Rob Hennessy, Joe Murphy and Johnny Deasy. The half time lead of 12 points to 6 was not enough as the hosts converted a 2nd half penalty and scored a goal from a speculative shot from distance that trickled into the net. Despite plenty of honest effort from the whole team and fine displays from Conor Lehane, Dara Murphy, Johnny Deasy, Joe Murphy and JJ Butler the final score was 2.12 to 0.16. Team; Richie Smith, Brad Harte, Dara Murphy, Mark Henchion, Cathal Hennessy, Donal Sutton, Matthew Power, Conor Lehane, Johnny Deasy, Danny Lawton, Joe Murphy, Oisin Dowling, Rob Hennessy, John Joe Butler and David Deasy. Subs; Pat Burke and Jack Henchion. The next round is against Bandon at home on the weekend of October 10th/11th.
