JHC v Bandon

Junior Hurling

The Argideen Rangers hurling second string played Bandon last Sunday morning in the JCHC. In difficult weather conditions, the Timoleague men got off to a great start with a peach of a point from John Joe Butler. Playing into the strong breeze in Bandon's second pitch, further first half points from Butler again, Danny Lawton and Rob Hennessy meant Argideen were trailing by 1-11 to 0-4 at half time. The back line shut up shop in the second half with Mark Henchion, Brad Harte and Dara Murphy thundering into the game. Chris Deasy, making a welcome return to maroon colours, hurled a load of ball at wing back and Oisín Dowling worked his socks off at midfield. Points followed from Joe Murphy, JJ Butler and Matthew Power who was now operating at wing forward and was a real threat. Despite numerous goal chances an Argideen major never came with the home side victorious on a score of 1-15 to 0-11. The performance in difficult conditions was honest, hard-working and committed from a bunch of players who always give their all.  Team; Richie Smith, Brad Harte, Dara Murphy, Mark Henchion, Matthew Power, Donal Sutton, Chris Deasy, Oisín Dowling, Jack Henchion, Joe Murphy, Rob Hennessy, Pat Burke, John Joe Butler and Danny Lawton.
